MEMORY & RESPONSIBILITY

June 1981 is part of Bernoussi’s history.

The Equity and Reconciliation Commission documented that 28 detainees, most of them children, died of asphyxiation in an overcrowded cell linked to the former 46th arrondissement during the June 1981 events. The portal treats this chapter as documented public history and presents it with respect for victims and families.
